Welsh international midfielder signed by Wilko as cover for the
likes of Gordon Strachan in the Division 2 promotion season. He was
a great midfielder with flair and was 100% committed to the cause
whoever he played for. He only played in 3 games for Leeds at the
start of the season as the side was getting settled and was
released to Stoke City on a loan and later on a free when it was
clear he wasn't going to get a look-in. He returned to Wrexham for
a final spell, and at the age of 37, scored the goal that knocked
Arsenal out of the FA Cup in January 1992.
Scouser Tommy says: To say this man Loves Man Utd is an
understatement!! He sits on a panel of ex-footballers on a local
radio station in Manchester Century 105.4FM. All he sees is
red...typical Manc!!!
Andy McCall points out that I missed his 10-match/3-month stint
at Everton from his career - good spot!
anon says: I listen to the football show on 105 and there's a
great setup there. Alan Kennedy, Graham Sharp, Gary Owen and the
cheeky Micky Thomas. I'm a manc and even I like cheeky Micky. He's
a total red, but Gary's had the last laugh now, justice has been
done the last derby at our ground and we walloped them. Scouse
Tommy gets everywhere, he's never off the radio, he thinks the pool
will never get beaten. A real fan, just like us blues. Is Venners
the right man? Or to many taking the money and not doing it? Harry
not ripping any turf up, and Viduka, need to change the setup. It
was a good profit on Ferdinand, Anelka made him look like the boy
he is. Goodluck for the season, except when you meet us. Chris
Rob (Stokie) says: My hero! what a superb winger! HERO HERO!
H. Frafjord - Norway says: 1. I am glad we don't had the same
hairdresser
2. I am glad I wasn't a naive youth player with him at the club.
(...jailbird)
3. Great cup goal against boring Gunners in 91/92 seson for
Wrexham. :-)
4. Did he suffer from the same illness as Dreyfus? :-) (ref. Pink
Panter)
Martin Jones says: i remember going to watch mickey play for
wrexham in our promotion season of 77/78 when wrexham were
described by bill shankly as the best 3rd division team he had ever
seen.what an influential player he was he was like a pocket dynamo
here there and everywhere, a bit like the whole of his fooyball
career really.i remember when it came out he was leaving wrexham to
go to man utd i was gutted so with a few of my mates we went to
peggy jacksons in rhosrobin where he used to live and asked him why
he was leaving wrexham!(what a stupid question, mind you i was only
14 at the time).he will go down in history as one of the greatest
welsh footballers to ever pull on a wrexham shirt, mind you i
wouldn't borrow a tenner off him!!
