Product of the youth set-up, Neil Firm didn't really make the
grade in a declining Leeds side - strong in the air but in
possession of three left feet. After a spell at Oldham on loan, he
had a decent run at Peterborough before being forced to retire from
the professional game with a knee injury in 1986.
Dave Clark says: I remember he was reserve team captain. And not
very good.
Neil Thompson says: I met Neil Firm around about 1998 in
Thetford, where he was a Detective Sergeant in the local CID. He
made me a cuppa as it happens, so i think he was marvellous. Asked
after Keith Parkinson who is also a copper in West Yorkshire.
Carl Drewery, posh fan says: Once sent off for Posh in the same
game that David Seaman made his league debut and Trevor Slack was
sent off too. Firm and Slack, get it?
Steve Isley says: He lived in Peterborough next to my in
laws
