Jabba's Comments |
David Stewart had picked up 7 Scottish U-23 caps while at Ayr
United, and although he was David Harvey's back-up for most of the
time, he did get a good run in the side in 1975 as Leeds went so
close to winning the European Cup. He saved a penalty in his only
full international appearance against East Germany in 1978, but
when David Harvey won his place back, Stewart finally left Leeds in
search of a regular start.
martin sykes says: another one of my all time favourite keepers,
so him play once in friendly at Middlesbrough 4-4. Doesn't seem to
be anyone around these days who can match the goalies of the
70's

Have your say
Did you see David Stewart play? Did you meet him in a pub, go to
school with him, decorate his house or buy a motor from him? If
you've got any comments or stories about David Stewart on or off
the pitch, just fill in the form below and (provided they're not
blatantly libellous) I'll add them to this page. And just a quick
note to the spammers who try to add their links to this page by
attempting to get round the client-side validation: don't bother -
the server side does similar checks and throws your garbage
straight into the bit bucket.
