Len Browning joined his hometown club at the age of 18. It was
two years before he became a regular, and was leading scorer in 2
of the next 3 seasons. After moving on to Sheffield United, he won
a 2nd Division Championship medal in 1953, but a bout of TB ended
his professional career early in the next season.
Dennis Hartley says: I followed Leeds United at the time Len
Played for them,Len was also a first division Table Tennis player
for the Victoria TTClub, the club for whom I played for around
1950-54, Len was a very well liked player in Leeds,and I believe he
is still playing TT for Lawnswood YMCA If Len sees my E-Mail
address I would like to hear from him just for old times sake.
Wiljoy says: Len was a very good Table Tennis player as well as
his football ability, Len and I were clubmates at the Victoria
Table Tennis Club in Leeds from 1950 to 1955,I used to jokingly
tell him to sell his soccer boots,because he scored most of his
goals with headers,he had few peers in this field.As far as I know,
he is still playing T T for Lawnswood Y M C A.in Leeds, (2003)
LeedsLass says: I know Len's wife fairly well, I don't know
whether Len still plays football but he does work at Leeds United.
He does something to do with the videos of the oppostion that are
used by the manager.
