Jamie Forrester was one of a number of players who showed much
promise in the FA Youth Cup winning side (I seem to remember him
scoring a spectacular overhead in the final against Manchester
United), but he never quite had the pace or skill that he needed to
make it at the top level.
Having said that, he's enjoyed a good career with several
lower-division clubs, as well as having a spell in Holland with
Utrecht. On his return to England, he joined up with Northampton
and is near the top of the division goal-scoring charts this
season.
Chris Marriott corrected one of my facts and added: he's still a
Cobbler and is just coming to form again.
After Terry Fenwick arrived as manager, Jamie found himself out
of favour and was moved on to Hull where a promising start was
curtailed by a broken bone in his foot after two months.
Jon says: Jamie was a god for the Cobblers!
