David O'Leary was a giant of a player for Arsenal and Ireland.
With over 700 games for the Highbury side, he holds their
appearance record, and despite a falling out with Jack Charlton for
a time, he played a central role in the Republic's rise in
international football, and nobody could not have been impressed
when the centre half stepped up to convert a vital penalty in the
World Cup Finals that took Ireland through to the next phase. His
time at Leeds as a player was short: just 10 appearances in a 9
month stint, but it's clear that Leeds fans will remember O'Leary
the manager much better than O'Leary the player.
Rituraj Chakrabarti says: I am a Leeds fan from Kolkata,India
and have desperately tried to write to O'Leary or to anyone in the
Leeds team but without success. I want to wish David O'Leary the
very best for his great job with the club. I hope Leeds wins the
Premier League this year. I would love any fan of the club to write
to me. I feel it was unfortunate to draw on Sunday with Leicester
but with Liverpool losing to Chelsea I think Leeds will soon go to
the top spot. All the best.
Shaun says: I like to add that David is the one that got leeds
back agmonst the big clubs. The club made a huge mistke on getting
rid of him. But am sure they will learn from it. They must
have, with out laughing. Thats why were 4 points above the drop
zone. Clever Mr Risdale very clever
Alan Bruce says: o'leary is an adequate manager, but was never
likely to take leeds to the top.as a player he was average and it
seems this mediocrity has spilled over into managment!!lets try
eddy gray ??
Emily says: I think David O'leary is so good looking and
cute.
Shaqer Rasheed says: David O'Leary is the best manager in
English football. I fell in love with the Leeds United side he
built, with Bowyer driving the midfield and Kewell and Viduka
upfront. The manager cut an almost napoleonic figure from the
touchline. Good luck David. Aston Villa is so lucky to have a
manager like you. You have shown that you can do without the money.
You should manage a continental club some day.
Nayil Kalla says: That's Nayil Kalla (from Mauritius) : My dad's
absolutely fanatical about Leeds United since 1969. So much so that
he got litterally exaperated to see DOL on the Mauritian TV a few
monts ago when the latter visited the country. Leeds was dommed for
second division then.
