Jabba's Comments |
David White's only international recognition came towards the
end of a long and successful spell at Maine Road when he was capped
by England for a game against Spain in 1993. Exchanged with City
for David Rocastle, the general idea was for White to try to
provide the width and pace on the right side of the pitch that was
clearly missing. However he suffered from the vagaries of Wilko's
selection policy at the time, being left in the side when he
clearly was out of form and then being dropped as soon as he put
two decent games together. The fans never really took to him, but
there was a sense of regret at potential unrealised when he was
sold to Sheffield United at the end of 1995.
Where's white? says: We fear White is one of the forgotten
legends of the English game - does he have his own website? Where
is he now?

Have your say
Did you see David White play? Did you meet him in a pub, go to
school with him, decorate his house or buy a motor from him? If
you've got any comments or stories about David White on or off the
pitch, just fill in the form below and (provided they're not
blatantly libellous) I'll add them to this page. And just a quick
note to the spammers who try to add their links to this page by
attempting to get round the client-side validation: don't bother -
the server side does similar checks and throws your garbage
straight into the bit bucket.
