Tigerish midfielder who came through the junior ranks and for a
time was seen as the next David Batty, but after a food run in the
side in 1996, he was sold to Burnley where he was in and out of the
side. A broken ankle early in the 1998-99 season and the
replacement of Chris Waddle by Stan Tennent as manager saw Ford's
chances restricted, and so he spent a season in Belgium with KFC
Lommel. He returned to prominence as a lodger in Soccer AM
presenter Helen Chamberlain's place down in Torquay before moving
up to Darlington where he seems to be doing pretty well.
In February 2003 he moved down to Leigh RMI in the Conference on
loan for a month and was released at the end of the season.
