Paul only appeared once for the first team - in an away defeat
at Arsenal - and was released from his contract in 1999-2000. When
he left Leeds he went up to Scotland with Ayr, and after a season
there spent 3 months in Iceland with Keflavic. On his return, he
made a single substitute appearance for Scunthorpe before signing
up for Luton in the spring after trials at Crewe and Wimbledon.
A brief stint at Oldham yielded no appearances before he signed
for Conference side Scarborough at the end of 2001 where he became
a regular penalty taker. He moved on to join Leigh RMI in the
Conference on 7 August 2003.
