Switched between league football and north-eastern junior clubs,
Fred Graver joined Leeds with a reputation for being a good
goalscorer, but only got 3 games in a year before being sold on to
Southend. His son was also a footballer with Lincoln City. Fred
died in early 1950.
Cristina Rivas Graver says: I am his grandaughter, his son Andy
Graver played for Newcastle Upon Tyne before moving to Lincoln City
and is still alive today. His other son Alfie Graver also played
for Lincoln, sadly he is no longer alive. Fred Graver's brother is
the grandfather of Barry Venison. If you want any photos just let
me know. He was a handsome devil!!
doug dickson says: i did not see fred play but saw sone play
andy with lincoln i think he had 3 spells there also played for
nottingham forest. andy was a very good goalscorer similar to brian
clough, he had the knack of being in the right place at the right
time. good to hear he is still alive sorry to hear about alfie who
