Imre Varadi made just 29 appearances in 3 years at Leeds and was
mainly used as a fill-in striker when Lee Chapman or Rod Wallace
were injured. He was never the most instinctive of goalscorers, but
his record over the years - particularly for Newcastle, Sheffield
Wednesday and Manchester City - showed that he did have a good eye
for goal, and he always worked for the team. He was released in the
great post-championship clearout of 92-93.
